Château Mouton Rothschild named Estate of the Year in the Bettane & Desseauve Wine Guide 2018

Château Mouton Rothschild was awarded the supreme “Estate of the Year” accolade by French wine critics Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve in the course of a joyous and festive evening at Caves Legrand in Paris on Thursday, 7 September.

Receiving the award on behalf of the family, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild thanked the two authors of the Bettane & Desseauve Wine Guide in front of a large gathering of journalists, wine merchants, sommeliers and other prominent figures from the world of wine. In his speech he thanked all the people who work at Mouton Rothschild under the direction of Philippe Dhalluin, citing their “immense knowledge and expertise” and adding that they had “focused and pooled their skills in order to work together in pursuit of excellence”. In an article to appear in the magazine En Magnum published today, Thierry Desseauve praises Mouton Rothschild as being “at the very pinnacle of Bordeaux wines”.
