Aile d’Argent – 2012

Aile d’Argent – 2012

Climatic conditions

2012 was a year of contrasts. The winter was cold and very dry and the average temperature in February was the lowest for fifty years.

April brought cool weather and abundant rainfall, while the weather in May and June was in-between. For the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, flowering took place in early June and veraison between 1 and 3 August, both in good conditions.

Exceptionally dry weather from 20 July to 20 September slightly slowed the vine cycle, but moderate temperatures in August helped to enhance and preserve the grapes’ freshness of aroma and flavour.

The white grapes were picked in perfect conditions between 11 and 19 September.
