The vegetation cycle began around 14 April in dry and warm weather. May was generally cool, delaying flowering by one week.
Warm and sunny weather in June ensured that flowering took place evenly between 19 May and 12 June. July and August were hot and dry, relieved by rains at the beginning of September.
Sorting and strict selection were carried out, as for the senior wine.Oenological sheet
The wine has a deep, intense colour with an attractive garnet tint and a highly refined nose which opens on floral aromas, and smoky notes.
On the palate, it reveals the presence and close-knit structure of tannins, sustaining ripe red fruit, cassis and roast coffee flavours.
The expressive and substantial finish shows considerable power and distinction, still rather understated, typical of a fine Pauillac in a very good year.Descriptive sheet
